AORANGI CLUB COMPETITION ROUNDS At the annual meeting of the Aorangi Football Club on Monday night, the delegates to the Mackenzie Sub-union were instructed to support the retention of last year’s competition rounds, and in the event of Waimate playing in Timaru, to ask for four rounds. A donation of 10/6 was made to the St. John Ambulance Association. AMATEUR ATHLETICS D. O’CONNOR WINS SEASON S TROPHY Competition between E. Crichton and D. O’Connor for the season’s trophy, the Mcßae Cup, added interest to the Fairlie Amateur Athletic Club’s final evening meeting of the season on Tuesday night. O’Connor won the 220 yards and the 440 yards, while Crichton won the pole vault and took second place in the 440 yards. The cup, as a result, goes t O’Connor. Results:—

DOUBLE FEATURE PROGRAMME “Harmony Lane” and “Deadwood Pass” will head a double feature programme at Fairlie at 7.45 to-night. “Harmony Lane” deals with the life story of Stephen Foster, the author of the famous songs, “Swanee River,” “Old Black Joe,” and “Camptown Races.” The famous Shaw choir of over 200 voices will be heard in splendid renditions of these popular songs. Douglass Montgomery, Evelyn Venable and Adrienne Ames have the leading roles. “Deadwood Pass,” featuring Tom Tyler, is a stirring Western story based on the life of “Billy the Kid,” the Robin Hood of the West. Good supports, including the Louis v. Farr fight will be screened.
