WEDDING

TOPHAM—MITCHELL A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the Temuka Trinity Presbyterian Church on Saturday, when Marion Anne, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Fredrick Mitchell was married to Keith, only son of Mr and the late Mrs C. W. Topham. Springfield Road. Temuka.. The Rev. W. F. Nichol performed the ceremony. The church wa tastefully decorated in shades of pink by friends of the bride. The bride was escorted by her father, and as she entered the church the bridal march was played by Miss Linda Cain. A gown of ivory faconne lace mounted over satin beaute and fashioned on simple lines, with the skirt falling into a graceful train, was worn by the bride. The neckline of her frock formed a cowl while the back was finished with a row of tiny satin buttons. The plain fitting sleeves were pointed over the hand. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of oraqge blossom and her bouquet was of carnations, roses and lilies. Attending the bride were Miss Grace and Miss Betty Mitchell (sisters of the bride), wearing frocks of leaf-pattern-ed lace in apple green with underskirts to tone in satin beaute. The bodies of their frocks were gathered up the centre front and finished with wide revers, while the back was finished with a row of satin-covered buttons. The skirts, being peaked at the waistline, fell in graceful folds to the hem The plain-fitting sleeves were finished with a peak over the hand and the bouquets they carried were of roses, a bullions and gladioli in tones of deep pinks. Their headbands were satin and georgette leaves, with pink forget-me-nots intertwined. The flower-girl. Nola Lynn, of Geraldine wore apple-green georgette over green satin beaute, made with small yoke and skirt falling from a band of rucking. Her short-puffed sleeves were finished with a frill which fell from a band of rucking, the neckline being finished with three satin bows matching the sash. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe by little Diana Burgess. During the signing of the register a duet was sung by Misses Muriel and Elsie Shepherd. Mr M. McLeod was the best man and Mr Arnold Topham, cousin of the bridegroom, was groomsman. The bride’s mother wore a navy tailored costume, with Paisley blouse, navy hat and accessories to tone. Her shoulder spray was of crimson begonias. Mrs W. Hull, sister of the bridegroom, wore a rust-coloured suit with brown hat and a shoulder spray of autumn-tinted flowers. For travelling, the bride wore a navy tailored costume with navy silk Hungarian blouse, worked in shades of blue and navy Breton sailor hat to match.
