Mr William Angland will leave to-day for Christchurch to attend the Jubilee re-union of former New Zealand amateur athletic champions.
Mr T. E. Y. Seddon’s appointment as Deputy Consul-General for Greece at Wellington has been recognised by his Excellency the Governor-General.
Lieutenant Sir Standish O'Grady Roche, formerly naval A.D.C. to the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, has been appointed to H.M.S. Acheron.
Mr E. A. Horan, supervisor of the mailroom in the Invercargill Post Office, has been transferred on promotion to the position of senior supervisor of the mail branch at Dunedin.
Mr D. V. Bryant, founder of the Waikato Land Settlement Society and the Bryant Home, Raglan, has been ordered to take a health trip abroad for about a year. Accompanied by Mrs Bryant, their daughter, Miss Lucy Bryant, and his private secretary, Miss Alma Cole, Mr Bryant will leave for England about the middle of next month.
Mr Keith Murray, of Auckland, was one of the first recipients Of the distinction of Designer for Industry of the Royal Society of Arts, to whom the Duke of Gloucester presented diplomas in London on February 17- The distinction was awarded to Mr Murray for eminent services in the sphere of glass and pottery.
The Hon. F. Waite, M.L.C., left Dunedin on Wednesday on his way to Sydney to attend as one of the representatives of New Zealand a conference of Empire primary producers. The conference will be attended by representatives of England, Scotland, Canada, Rhodesia, South Africa. Australia and New Zealand.
