KEPT FROM GOING HOME

NOTED BRITISH ACTRESS Doris Lloyd, favourite of the London stage, claims to have enjoyed the longest “vacation” on record. Eleven years ago she arrived in Hollywood with the intention of looking over the screen capital and then sailing right back to London. She met George Arliss and he persuaded her to play with him in a motion picture. Since that time she never has been able to get away from Hollywood. Each time she packed her baggage another part came along in pictures, until she finally became resigned to her fate and brought her mother over here from London. “I don’t know how long this is going to keep up,’ she said, when she went into an important role in Universal s Crime Club mystery thriller. “The Black Doll,’ “but some time I am going back to England. Perhaps I can ger as far as the steamer in New York I before they telegraph me to come i back.”
