FAMOUS CHOIR IN DURBAN PICTURE

Twenty-four boys, ranging in age from eight to ten years, broke into the movies en masse when they were signed, as a group, to appear in Universal’s “Mad About Music” in support of Deanna Durbin. The two dozen are the world-famous Vienna Choir, now in Los Angeles on tour of America. Their screen work will consist of singing the background music of Gounod's “Ave Maria” which Miss Durbin will sing in the production. The choir was signed by Joe Paster-

nak, producer of the picture, who has spent many years in Austria. According to Pasternak the group comprises the most famous boy’s choir in the world, and to be a member of it is considered one of the highest honours that can befall a youngster in Austria. Their appearance with Miss Durbin will be the first time this famous organization ever has sung before motion picture camera. They will perform their studio duties early this week. Warner Baxter will make “Everybody Was Very Nice,” from a magazine story by Vincent Benet, as the picture he owes Warners. Ann Harding may return to American films as his costar.
