ANOTHER AIR FORCE LOSS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 28. Saved by a parachute from hurtling to the earth from a crashing aeroplane, near Boston, in Lincolnshire, Pilot A. N. MacFarlane, of the Royal Air Force, after floating four miles, landed safely, but collapsed and died after walking a few steps. It is possible he was hit by the plane as he dived for his life. RECKLESS STUNTING VIEWS OF SQUADRON LEADER United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 30, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 30. Eye-witnesses at the inquest into the death of Pilot Macfarlane gave evidence that they saw the plane loop three times, after which they heard a crack that suggested something had broken and pieces dropped from the plane. Squadron-Leader Tindall gave evidence that the bomber Pilot Macfarlane was using was too heavy to be looped at high speed, as there was a danger of the structure breaking. A verdict of accidental death was returned. Pilot Macfarlane was bom at Balclutha in New Zealand.
