The Berlin correspondent of “The Daily Telegraph” says: “‘Churches’ of the new paganism, which is especially strong in General Himmler’s Black Guards and Herr Hitler youth, were recently inaugurated at Ouestrow, Wismar and Doberan in Mecklenburg, marking an important stage in the development of the still nebulous German faith. They are intended to supplant ‘Jewish Christianity.” The churches are called Ahnehallen, or ancestors’ halls, in which Nazi district leaders officiate as “high priests.” The chief features of religion are the worship of “holy German earth, family, race and the adoration of Herr Hitler and his ancestors and of local families whose names are Inscribed on wall tablets.” War on Christianity The Ministry of the Interior has dissolved the Christian Association o' German Railwaymen.
GERMANY’S WAR ON JEWS LAWLESSNESS IN HUNGARY United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 10, 7.30 pun.) BUDAPEST, January 10. Thirty Nazi youths armed with knuckle-dusters and ski sticks, attacked a number of Jews at a ski-lng resort in Schwagenburg. They injured fifty, of whom four were sent to hospital. The police arrested thirteen of the assailants.
SPEECHES BANNED GERMANY’S RIGID CENSORSHIP United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 10, 6.30 p.m.) BASLE, January 10. Germany banned the “speeches of Earl Baldwin and President Roosevelt,” which have been translated into German and published by a Swiss firm.
