ELITE THEATRE Ann Dvorak may not have had what it takes too be a lady in Paramount’s “She’s No Lady,” the irresponsible comedy which is the principal offering on the double feature programme showing at the Elite Theatre this evening, but she had more than enough of what it takes to win handsome John Trent. “She’s No Lady” is a merry story of a band of jewel thieves who are frustrated mainly by Cupid’s darts. The second feature is headed by that great fun maker, Edward Everett Horton who brilliantly portrays the skinflint gone mad with other peoples money to spend. Both pictures are comedy of the best. An address on “Disease in Farm / imals” will be given by A. M. Paterson at the monthly meeting of the Temuka Branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union which will be held in the Fire Brigade room on Friday, at 8 p.m. The Winchester Women’s Institute will hold a dance in Victoria Hall on Saturday at 8 p.m.
