A. A. ANDERSON TO GO Timaru is to have a second lepresentative at the Empire Games in Sydney, in A. A. Anderson, who has been advised of his selection for the 440 yards hurdles. Timaru’s other games competitor will be Miss Doris Strachan. After the trials held in Wellington , recently, it was decided that selection , for the 440 yards hurdles would lie 1 between Ball and Finlayson ( Auckland) and Anderson, Ball and Finlayson to undergo a trial in Auckland and Anderson to make an individual test run at Christchurch. At Auckland, Ball beat Finlayson in 55 l-ssec., but, running at Lancaster Park, Andeson covered the distance in 55sec., equalling his New Zealand record. As a result of his success, he has now been asked to join the Empire Games team.
