Cook) 2 Sal Volatile, 7.6 (Finch) 3 Scratched—Verberry, Masterpiece, Peanut. Won by a neck, one and a half lengths between second and third. Time, 2min. 30Ssec. The winner received one of the worst demonstrations in Randwick’s history. The crowd demanded an Inquiry into to-day’s running compared with previous performances. An inquiry was opened and adjourned.

Normal, Vanquish and Young Carrington were unplaced in the Nursery Handicap, Stalin in the Flying Welter, and Improvement in the Alfred Hill Handicap.
