November 29, The development of the United States Mercantile Marine to the direction of aerial activity is foreshadowed to a Bill Introduced to the House of Representatives designed to broaden the powers of the Maritime Commission. The measure includes an amendment to give the commission jurisdiction over trans-Oceanfc air services, and also to authorise subsidies to steamship lines for the purpose of building up their own air services.
