MORE RIGID CONTROL PROPOSED

Ten million cyclists throughout Great Britain are affected by recommendations from the Traffic Advisory Committee which the Minister of Transport is considering. They include a minimum age limit for cyclists; registration of bicycles; compulsory use of cycling tracks on the main roads; and third party insurance.

Pedal cycles were Involved in more than 61,000 accidents last year.
