PLEASANT POINT SALE VALUES UNCHANGED Little change in values was experienced at the stock sale held yesterday at the Pleasant Point yards. Fat Cattle About 70 head came forward, about half being of fair quality. Values were:—

MINING NEWJ By Telegraph—Press Association WESTPORT, November 29. The Addison’s return for the fortnight ended November 23 was 340 - for 28i shifts, reven and a half shifts were lost through shortage of water. DUNEDIN, I ovember 29. The Clutha River dredge for the week ended November 26 worked 133 hours for 128 oz of gold. The Mataki return for the week was 290 z for 133 hours work. PRODUCE MARKETS DUNEDIN By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, November 29. Best fowl wheat is worth 5/9 a bushel, sacks extra, and undergrade 5/- to 5/6. The oat market continues quiet with an occasional sale going through for prompt delivery at 3/3 to 3/4 for B Gartons and 3/6 to 3/7 for A. These prices are f.o.b.s.i. Chaff is nominally worth £5/5/- a ton. sacks extra, ex truck, with lots ex store selling at £5/10/- a ton. Little ryegrass has been sown, and this has firmed the value of spot stocks. It is considered that the cocksfoot crops will be poor, but it is too early to give a definite opinion.

CHRISTCHURCH By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, November 29. The grain and produce markets are quiet, but there Is a certain amount of trade in small seeds. This section is rather more active than is usual at this time of the year, and though the trade is by no means large it is steady. Stocks of the main lines are small enough to induce a rise in prices when the demand increases. For most lines, holders are not now prepared to give price concessions. There is a better inquiry for oats and chaff, but both are hard to procure. Chaff is particularly firmly held as growers appear to want their surplus by them in case of more dry’ weather. Old potatoes are now unprocurable but the supply of new season’s is increasing. Little interest is being taken in next year’s crop, which is expected to be heavy unless the weather Is particularly unfavourable. Markr prospects at present appear to depend entirely on the possibility of further export.
