WEDDING
MACKINTOSH—O’CARROLL The marriage was celebrated at the Catholic Cathedral, Christchurch, on Wednesday, of William Alexander, eldest son of Mrs and the late Mr John Mackintosh, Woodburn, Fairlie, and Mary Eveleen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas O'Carroll, St. Elmo Courts. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Simon Burke, cousin of the bridegroom, and Miss IL O’Connor was organist. Mr T. O’Carroll escorted his daughter, who wore a gown of ivory angelskin lace over satin, made with a cowled neck and full bishop sleeves. The belt was caught by four linked silver rings at front and back, and the skirt fell in a long train. Her beautiful veil of Limerick lace was held by a coronet of orange blossom, and she earned an arm bouquet of white roses and carnations. Her bridesmaid. Miss Ethel Cossins, Wellington, had fine kilting edging the fichu and puffed sleeves of her cream satin striped marquisette frock. Her white stitched belt was of pastel shaded satin ribbons and was finished with a rosette and long streamers at the back. She • ore a halo plait of pastel shaded georgette with a latticed crown, and carried a Victorian posy to tone. Mr Michael O’Carroll was best man. The reception was held at Beath’s, where Mrs O'Carroll received the guests wearing a navy suit end hat to match. She carried a bouquet of red flowers. For travelling the bride wore a frock of leaf brown wool georgette with a line. The fine pleating of the wide chenille flower at the high round neckpanel down the front and back of the frock was repeated in a short box jacket. She had a Bangkok straw hat to tone. Mr and Mrs W. A. Mackintosh will live at Rakaia.
