Robertson (Dunedin), H. S. Millar (Wellington) and G. Morris (Rakaia) are staying at the Empire. At the monthly meeting of the South Canterbury Hospital Board yesterday, a motion of sympathy was carried With the relatives of Mr R. W. Simpson. Mr E. Macdonald (chairman) paid a tribute to the thorough manner in which Mr Simpson had attended to his duties as a member of the Board. A welcome to a seat on the South Canterbury Hospital Board was extended yesterday to Mr W. H. Hall, by the chairman (Mr E. Macdonald). Mr Hall takes the place of the late Mr R. W. Simpson, and was nominated for the vacancy by the Timaru Borough Council. He was appointed to fill the vacancies left on the House and Social Services Committees.
