ENGAGEMENTS OF KING AND QUEEN British Official Wlreles* (Received October 19, 6.3 C p.m.) RUGBY, October 18. In view of the State opening of Parliament to-morrow week, the King and Queen inspected the House cf Lords. Earlier to-day, before returning to London from the Royal Lodge at Windsor Great Park, the King and Queen visited Windsor Castle and inspected the alterations and improvements carried out in their private apartments during their stay in Scotland. The King received Mr D. J. Jardine on his appointment as Governor of Sierra Leone. Visit to Yorkshire The King and Queen left for Yorkshire to-night. The train halts at a siding for a night’s sleep, going on to Hull in the morning. The King and Queen are staying two nights at Harewood House as the guests of the Princess Royal and the Earl of Harewood. The three days’ tour of industrial Yorkshire which the King and Queen ■Will begin at. Hull to-morrov' will be their first journey of the kind during the reign. It enables thousands of inhabitants in the small towns and manufacturing villages to greet them as they pass by road.
