POWER BOARD
FEE FOR SHOWGROUND CONNECTIONS A recommendation by the General Committee that the fee for show ground connections at Timaru be increased to £1 in view of double time having to lie paid, was approved by the South Canterbury Power Board at its meeting yesterday. The Finance Committee recommended that an application for a reduction in charges by the Waimate Post ' Hee be not granted. The recommendation was approved, the chairman, who presented a report on the matter, dissecting on the grounds that the charges were unjust and excessive. The chief electrical engineer of the Public Works Department ad”ised that the results of tests carried out in connection with the Board’s series of street lighting equipment at Temuka indicated that the equipment would operate satisfactorily ar’’ approval v.-.s given under the regulations.
