Summer Gloves.
Openwork net gloves are ideal for summery wear and keep the hands cool. Finely meshed curtain net at a shilling or so a yard can be used for these gloves and a pair can be made at home very cheaply. Glove patterns are obtainable, or you may cut up an old pair of gloves for a guide in the cutting-out process. All seams are backstitched on the wrong side and the gloves turned to right side when finished. Coarse coloured thread can be used for a little embroidery round the cuffs or gauntlets of the gloves. Three-piece Suits. If your holiday is yet to come you may be interested in one of the neatest threepiece suits that arc now popular. Printed cotton was the material used and the blouse and pleated shorts made a good playtime outfit. A third item was a ca r or a skirt, according to your wish of the moment. Cut circular and gathered in a band at the top it could be tied around the waist or neck and as it was lined with thin terry towelling, it was a useful garment for putting on over a swim-suit after coming from the water.
