Mrs Burtt, Christchurch, is staying at the Balmoral. Mrs R. Mcßae, Napier, is on a visit to Mr J. Mcßae, Selwyn Street. Dr. and Mrs D'Arcey Moir, Dunedin, are the guests of Mrs J. Campbell MacKencie, Queen Street. Miss Ethel Law, who is the guest of the Misses Mcllroy, “Kelso," Sarah Street, will leave to-day for Dimedin. Mrs Gladstone Robinson, Beverley House, Wai-iti Road, will leave to-day to stay at Warwick House, Christchurch. Mr and Mrs G. F. Smythe, Bidwill Street, are on a visit to Hanmer. Lady Nosworthy who was the guest of Mrs C. L. LeCren, Grey Road, has returned to Ashburton. Mr and Mrs R. Murrell, Lake Manapouri, and Miss Hughes-Johnson, England, are the guests of Mrs W. G. Hosken, Simon’s Hill, Mackenzie Country. In the list of Trinity College passes at the recent examinations held in Timaru, Miss Muriel Wilkie was incorrectly credited with Licentiate practical pass only. Having previously passed the necessary written examination she is now entitled to her full Licentiate Diploma. Miss Helen Atkinson, who is now on the nursing staff of the New Plymouth Public Hospital, has accepted a secretarial position in London, and expects to sail some time in March for her new position, which will involve periodical journeys to the Continent and to South Africa. A pleasant function was arranged recently at the Nurses’ Home, Queen Street, when the members of the Timaru Savage Club entertained the medical and nursing staff. A varied programme consisting of choral and orchestral numbers and instrumental items was greatly appreciated. On behalf of the Matron (Miss M. L. Lindsay} and the nursing staff, the Medical Superintendent, Dr. J. C. McKenzie, thanked the members of the club for their entertainment. Supper was served by the staff, and an hour’s dancing brought an enjoyable evening to a close.
