RESTORED AFTER WAR DAMAGE “NEVER BEEN CONSECRATED.” United Preu Association—By Electric Telegraph -Copyright (Received October 19, 1.45 a.m.) RHEIMS, October 18 After twenty-three years interruption owing to damage by Germans in wartime, the Rhelms Cathedral, now completely restored. reopened for public worship with 8 seven hour ceremony. Cardinal Suhard (Archbishop of Rhelms) was celebrant. He explained that In spite of it having existed since the fifteenth century and twenty-five French kings had been crowned there, the cathedral had never been consecrated. The ceremony, which was overlooked in ancient times, was being arranged when the war broke out. Altogether 287 shells directly hit the cathedral. The first on September 4, 1914, and the last on September 17, 1918,
