Messrs B. R. Macdonald (Geraldine) and R. Duerdln (Dunedin) are registered at the Dominion. Mr J. D. Maxwell has left for Wellington to join the Royal New Zealand Air Force training eamp at Trentham. Mr H. Turner, London manager of the New Zealand Fruit Board, is returning to the Dominion by the Rangitiki, which is due at Auckland this week. Messrs A. W. Edwards (Wellington), D. H. Hodgson, N. R. Williams, J. Wood (Christchurch) and L, S. Churchill (Dunedin) are at the Balmoral. Messrs J. A. Cant, M. M. Sutherland, W. Bold, J. Richardson, W. Catley, A. C. Ross (Christchurch), and V. Godward (Dunedin) are staying at the Empire. Messrs A. B. Hutchinson (Auckland), J. H. Monteith (Wellington), J. R. McMahon (Dunedin) and D. Forster (Christchurch) are staying at the Grand. Dr. A. L. Haslam, Messrs S. G. Dlnniss, F. H. Aynsley, N. J. Armstrong, B. R. Collins (Christchurch), O. MUls (Wellington) and W. A- Slowley (Dunedin) are staying at the Grosvenor. The Rev. Herbert Davies is to be nominated by the Christchurch Presbytery as Moderator of the General Assembly for the year 1938-39. Mr Davies is a missionary at Canton, and he }s expected to return to New Zealand on furlough at the end of next year. Mr E. C. Adams, who for the last seven years hag been District Land Registrar and Assistant Commissioner of Stamp Duties at Nelson, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to a similar position in Napier, lie will be succeeded by Mr W. E. Brown, of Hokitika. Mr E- B. C. Murray, LL.B., examiner of titles and assistant land registrar for Otago for the past 12 years, has received notification of his appointment to the position of district land registrar and assistant commissioner of stamp duties for Westland. He will take up his new duties at the beginning of November.
