MY CHOICE

Of all animals of any size, Best, I like the dog. E’en though there are many others Like the hippo or the hog; The rhinoceros or the llama, The leopard or the rat, The snarling, raging tiger, The gentle purring cat; And many, many others, Too numerous to name. But best of all, as I have said, I like the ones who’re tame. I like dogs best as puppies, For then they jump and frisk. Out of all names you could give dogs, I call my own dog "Brisk,” Elsie Mills, Waimate.
