CARS COLLIDE
BROTHERS IN HOSPITAL By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, October 4. A motor driven by Edward Giles came into collision with another car at Mosgiel, with the result that the driver and his brother suffered injuries which necessitated their removal to hospital, while three other passengers received minor abrasions. Giles’ car was the lighter of the two and the impact was so severe that it overturned into a ditch. Giles received a fractured nose, and his brother, Thomas Giles, suffered concussion. An unusual feature of the accident was that while it was proceeding to the scene the St. John motor ambulance was itself involved in a collision. The ambulance was being driven along the Main South Road when an approaching car drove out from a side street. The driver of ihe ambulance swerved to avoid a collision but the vehicle went into a violent skid, capsizing and turning two somersaults, to land back on its wheels. The occupants of the ambulance were uninjured, but the vehicle was unable to proceed on its own power.
