ALTERED TIME TABLE Despite the wet night a large nd representative gathering of residents of Rangltira Valley and Waltohi was present at the Waitohi Library on Monday to discuss the alteration in the rural mail delivery services. Mr W. Moore was elected chairman. There were a number of speakers and it was apparent tha the meeting was very dissatisfied with the altered timetable.
The following motion which was moved by Mr A. J. Davey and seconded by Mr T. Lyon was carried unanimously: “That this meeting of residents of Rangitira Valley, Upper and Lower Waitohi served by the rural mall delivery unanimously protests against the present time table of delivery, and wishes the old schedule restored, and that Mr J. Gardiner and Mr W. Moore be appointed a deputation to wait on the postal authorities in Timaru.” The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair and Mr Moore and Mr Gardiner were also thanked for organising the meeting.
