AMALGAMATION BILL
PROVISION FOR COMMISSION By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, September 9. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon. W. E. Parry) said to-day that if local bodies could devise a better system of improvement than that provided in the Amalgamation Schemes Bill, it was their duty to make a contribution and not merely reply in negative form. It had been suggested that a Royal Commission should be set up, but the Bill itself provided for a Commission of Inquiry and gave it complete poweiß to deal with findings.
