FAREWELL EVENING RATE COLLECTIONS To do honour to Miss Georgina Flett, who is shortly to be married, residents of Clandeboye conducted a social in the Clandeboye Hall on Wednesday evening. Mr J. Donehue presided over a well-filled hall. In making the presentation on behalf of the residents, Mr Donehue said that Miss Flett had always taken a prominent part in district affairs, and had always been willing to do her share. On behalf of the Tennis Club, Mr T. E. Langrell, the president, presented the guest of honour with a set of silverware and eulogised the work she had done while she had been connected with the club. Reference to the good work Miss Flett had done in the district was made by Messrs R. Armstrong, chairman of the Clandeboye Spinsters’ and Bachelors’ Club; E. Dobson, president of the Basketball Club, who also remarked that she had been one of the foundation members; T. H. Dunn, for the Sunday School; and Miss E. M. Livesey, for the W.D.F.U. All wished Miss Flett the best of luck in her new sphere of life. Mr Jas. Woodhead, chairman of the Milford spinsters and bachelors, thanked the Clandeboye residents for allowing their club to co-operate with them with the function, as they also had a presentation to Mr G. Lyall. Mr Lyall, on behalf of himself and Miss Flett, suitably responded, and thanked the various speakers for their kind remarks. Several items were given during the evening by Messrs Jas. Woodhead, A. Heer, T. E. Langrell, and D. Coffey. At a dance held later in the evening the music was played by Misses R. Hoare and P. Coffey, while Mr H. Mallet supplied several extras. Mr J. Donehue was M.C.
