LADIES’ MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB At the weekly shoot of the Orari Bridge Ladles’ Rifle Club the following scores were recorded.—Mrs F. E. South 70, Mrs Firman 72, Mrs F. Pratt 71, Mrs Wordsworth 73, Miss J. McLean 74, Miss Thelma Rule 78, Mrs Waters 71, Miss Clarice Rule 74. For the South Canterbury Association shoot the following were the scores.—Miss J. McLean 74, Mrs F. Pratt 71, Miss Thelma Rule 78, Mrs Waters 71, Mrs Firman 72, total 366. Miss C. Thelma Rule was the winner of the challenge cup with a score of 78. SOCIAL EVENING There was a good attendance at the fortnightly euchre held by the Orari Bridge Hall Committee. The prizes for the cards were won by Mrs F. E. South (23 points), Mrs Black being runnerup with 19 points. Mr J. McLean and Mr S. Cullen tied for the men’s prize with 20 points. Mr J. McLean proving the winner in the play-off. PERSONAL Miss Millicent Pratt who has been visiting Christchurch is expected home at the week-end. Mr Lambie, Brydon, and Mr John South, Hedgehope, who have been the guests of Mr and Mrs F. E. South reurnd to Southland yesterday. BASKETBALL Owing to their inability to secure players, the Orari Bridge Basketbali club have not entered a team for the tournament to be held at Temuka tomorrow.
