WHEAT GROWING AREAS
TOUR BY MINISTER On Wednesday and Thursday of next week the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce, will make a tour of the South Canterbury and North Otago wheat growing districts under the guidance of Messrs Alan Grant and Arthur Craig. His itinerary is as follows:—• Wednesday 9 a.m.—Leave Ashburton via Main South Road. 9.45 a.m.—Arrive Orari Bridge. 10.45 a.m.—Leave Orari Bridge via Main South Road to Temuka. 11.15 a.m.—Arrive Temuka. Inspect farm. Inspect Insulator Works. 12.45 p.m.—Leave Temuka. 1.30 p.m.—Lunch with growers and wives at Pleasant Point. Inspect farm. 3 p.m.—Leave Timaru. 4 p.m.— Arrive Wafmate. Inspect farm. 8 p.m.—Social gathering to meet growers and wives. Stay Waimate overnight. Thursday 9 a.m.—Leave Waimate. 9.45 a.m.—Arrive Oamaru. Inspect farm. 10.30 a.m.—Morning tea with growers and wives vicinity of Oamaru. Inspect Mill Laboratories..
