HINT OF ACTIVITIES OF AMERICAN FINANCE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LOS ANGELES, August 8. Mr Eric Chaseling, who was engaged in a technical survey on behalf of Australian air lines, interviewed by the Australian Associated Press, said he believed the reported attempt of American capital to control Australian air lines, would not succeed. The American syndicate was represented in Australia by a Denver mining man, Mr Seth Terry. It was rumoured that the Americans proposed to buy the majority of the stock in the Australian air lines, including Quantas, the Empire-Australian National, and the Macßobertson Miller Guinea Airways, merging them into a single company.
