PUBLIC SAFETY

NON-OBSERVANCE OF REGULATIONS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 22. A number of prosecutions were brought to-day under the new regulations governing both pedestrians and motor drivers at light controlled crossings and crossings laid down under the regulations. Convictions were entered in all cases, but no penalties were imposed. The Magistrate remarked that he could see the traffic officers would be busy for some time. Some people only seemed to read the court news and he indicated that the courts would therefore have to do some teaching.
