Mr D. Barnes, M.P., was yesterday elected a life member of the New Zealand Crown Tenants’ Association. In moving the motion, the president (Mr D. C. Kidd) said that Mr Barnes was the first member of the Association to be elected a member of Parliament, and he had done a great deal of work for the Association. All members present supported the motion, which was carried unanimously. Mr Barnes thanked members for the honour conferred on him, and said that he had always had the interests of the Association at heart, not only as a Member of Parliament, but also as a member of the Association. Mr Barnes is the second life member the Association has elected.
