Ferris, who cycled unpaced from Land’s End to John o’ Groats in 2 days 6 hours 33 minutes, thus beating Hubert Opperman’s record by 2 hours 28 minutes, after a short rest, carried on and completed the 1000 miles in 2 days 22 hours 45 minutes, beating Hubert Opperman’s record by 3 hours 7 minutes.
