RAID BY POLICE By Teiearapb— Press Association PALMERSTON N„ July 19. As a result oi a police raid on a laundry in Main Street last evening, Ah Hong and Joe Jack were each fined £l2/10/-, in default one month’s imprisonment on a charge of being found on premises used for the purpose of smoking opium. Fong Sang and Sue Poy were each fined £25, In default two months’ imprisonment on a charge of smoking opium. Detective-Sergeant Meiklejohn gave evidence that when he entered the premises he found a small room fitted up exclusively for the purpose of smoking opium. He saw two opium lamps burning. Fong Sang and Sue Poy were smoking.
