WELCOME BY RESIDENTS A welcome was extended to Mr and Mrs J. Jones at their residence, Ohapi Settlement, Orari, by neighbours and friends. A very pleasant evening was spent with cards and music. Mr H. Stanton and Mr S. Trumper spoke on behalf of the neighbours and wished the couple a happy and prosperous time in their new home. Mr Jones returned thanks on behalf of his wife and himself, and said he hoped they would be all good friends and neighbours. Those present were—Mr and Mrs H. Stanton, Mr and Mrs F. D. Clarke, Miss M. Mason, Mr and Mrs S. Trumper, Miss Jones (2), Messrs C. Gould, W. Watson, W. E. Payne, L. Davies, R. Davies, A. Guthrie, S. Hawkins, A. Deßenzy, L. Washington, A. Lyall and S. R. Muff. RIFLE CLUB At the weekly shoot of the Orari Ladies' Miniature Rifle Club the scores were: —Mrs W. Watson 78, Mrs L. Henderson 75, Mrs F. Prlddle 74, Mrs J. A. Henderson 74, Miss M. Mason 72, Miss K. Flowers 70, Miss D. Williams 69, Miss S. Austin 66. Mr H. Kllloh’s trophy was won by Mrs F. Priddle, while Mrs Watson won the gold button.
