Lord Craigmyle and Sir Edward Beatty (president of the Canadian Pacific Railway) have issued a joint statement as follows: "Negotiations continue to progress for the completion of an agreement to Improve the Pacific steamship service. The issue to selected shipbuilders of plans and specifications for two new ships inviting tenders for construction forms a routine part of the negotiations which are proceeding between the interested Governments and the Canadian-Australian Line. There is a possibility of some unavoidable delay on account of the necessary departure of the Dominion Prime Ministers from England before the completion of the agreement.”
