NAPIER HOSPITAL
INQUIRY CONCLUDED By Telegraph -Press Association WELLINGTON, July 1 “I must say this inquiry has been a revelation to me, and, speaking as a layman, there is something fundamentally wrong somewhere,” said Mr E. D. Mosley, chairman of the Royal Commission, which has been investigating affairs at the Napier Public Hospital, when the inquiry concluded at Wellington to-day. He added that the Commission had better material than he had anticipated would be available upon which to found its report to the GovernorGeneral.
The final witness was Dr. R. A. Shore, Director of the Hospitals Division, Health Department, who gave evidence regarding the plans for the new Napier Hospital after the earthquake. The Department had always been concerned regarding the health of nurses, specially with relation to the incidence of T.B. “We have the hardest part before ,us,” said Mr Mosley in closing the inquiry.
