Fairhal This will be Mr Fairhall’s initial ap pearance in Timaru as a referee, bu the former Australian champion is well remembered as a competitor. Thr

judges, Messrs M. P. McKenna and C. H. Barrie, are also new to their positions, but have many years of experience in the sport. Mr McKenna was formerly a well-known amateur boxer and has judged numerous amateur contests. Mr Barrie is best known as the mentor of the former New Zealand champion, Alan Campbell. Mr Stewart, who will control the amateur bouts, is well-known to followers of the sport. The judges in the amateur bouts have had long experience, Mr Segar having officiated at New Zealand championships, and Mr Gillum was formerly a judge under the Waimate Association. A further amateur bout is possible between G. Wright (Wellington paperweight champion) and A. Luxon (North Otago champion). Doors will open at 7.30 and the programme will commence at 8 p.m.
