LATEST ADVICES The Blue Star Line motor ship Melbourne Star, paying her first visit to Timaru, arrived from Bluff early yesterday morning and was berthed at No. 3 wharf, where she is loading general cargo for London. It is expected she will sail this evening for Wellington. The Karetu arrived last night from Oamaru and to-day will discharge general Australian cargo and load for Sydney, before sailing for Lyttelton. The Storm was the only other arrival at the port yesterday. She arrived from Oamaru and began loading last night for Wellington and Wanganui. NOTES The Waimarino is due to arrive from Dunedin this morning to load for Wellington and Auckland, and should sail this evening for Lyttelton. The Holmlea is scheduled to reach Timaru from Dunedin to-day, and after lifting Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato shipments, she is to proceed to Lyttelton. The Gale should be here on Sunday and on Monday she will load for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui before sailing for Lyttelton. The Waipahi is listed to load for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth at this port on Monday. She will arrive from Dunedin and Oamaru on Sunday. Kent at Dunedin En route from London via Suva, the Federal steamer Kent was delayed by bad weather and reached Lyttelton on Friday. She was due at Dunedin yesterday and will then commence her Homeward loading at Port Chalmers to-day to the Federal agency. Oamaru has now been included in the vessel’s loading ports, and from Port Chalmers she will proceed to Oamaru, Bluff, Timaru. Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland to fill up. The Kent is due to clear Auckland finally on July 28 for Southampton, London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow. Hauraki Leaves Los Angeles Advice has been received by the Union Company that its motor ship Hauraki cleared Los Angeles at 5.30 a.m. last Tuesday for Papeete, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia. She is due at Auckland on July 15. The Port Tauranga The Port Tauranga is to leave Goff’s Harbour about July 6 for Auckland, Waikokopu, Napier and Dunedin. Notice To Mariners Mariners are advised of alterations to Ferry wharf leading marks, Bluff Harbour. The front leading mark has been increased in size and altered in shape to an Inverted triangle and painted black and white diagonal stripes.
