X GOOD GIRDLE SCONES T Here is a recipe for the good * old-fashioned girdle scones. InX gradients: Half a pound of flour, ? 2 eggs, 1 tablespoon golden syrup, X 1 tablespoon baking powder, milk * to make a soft paste. Beat eggs I well, add syrup, then flour and ? baking powder sifted together t alternately with milk. Have your S girdle hot and rub over once X with a little butter. This butter * is sufficient for a good many * scones. When each is finished, * place in a closed dish, lined with * a serviette. Keep them closed J up till needed.
