WOMEN’S DIVISION
KAKAHU BRANCH There was a smaller attendance cf members than usual at the monthly meeting of the Kakahu Branch of the WD.F.U. held in the schoolroom last Saturday. A resignation was received from a member owing to~ her departure from the district. It was decided to hold a card evening with dance to follow. Arrangements were completed for the social evening to be held on July 30. Mrs A. Ford senr. gave a very interesting demonstration of hair pin work, which members followed very closely. Mrs Ford, who had some splendid examples of her work on view, was accorded a vote of thanks. The competitions for the month resulted.—Knitted tea cosy: Misses N. Dean 1, Ethel Ford 2. Three beet: Misses N. Maxwell 1, N. Dean 2. Bread: Misses N. Maxwell 1, M. Maxwell 2, Mrs N. Coles 3. Premier bloom, class A: Miss June Chapman 1, Mrs H. Coles 2. Class B: Mrs Coles 1. Hostesses for the afternoon were Misses J. Chapman, N. Dean and Edith Ford.
