BIGGEST SCORE OF TOUR

NEW ZEALANDERS IN ENGLAND SPLENDID LEAD AGAINST NOTTS From the Special Correspondent nf the Press Association NOTTINGHAM, June 21. In the match against Notts, New Zealand brilliantly compiled the biggest score of the tour against bowling not greatly different from that previously experienced, when only moderate totals were registered. Vigorous Batting Kerr and Page comfortably added 129 in a great stand for the second wicket. The former was run out in attempting a single, after a fine innings notable for strong offdriving. He hit eight fours and one six. Moloney safely negotiated the new ball, and brought his personal aggregate past 500. Voce, unsuccessful with his usual fast bowling, tried slow breaks, and got two quick wickets. With five out for 268 Lowry thrashed the bowling, registering ten fours, two twos and one three in the first half century. Fruitful Partnership Page, unhurried and undisturbed made steady progress toward an excellent century—his seventh in England. He batted over four hours, revealing a variety of crisp strokes, and employed admirable discretion, his total including nine fours. Lowry and Page knocked up IG7 together, of which the former smote 84. Lowry completed a chanceless centnry in only 102 minutes. He made 18 fours and one six. It was a grand exhibition of clean hitting. Larwood was unable to bowl on account of sore feet, but even without him the attack was of the avearge county standard. New Zealand’s innings lasted 6i hours. Notts, not without some moments of anxiety, batted for three-quarters of an hour, and scored 37 runs without loss.
