WOMEN’S DIVISION
MONTHLY MEETING At the monthly meeting of the Temuka Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union, held yesterday afternoon, the president, Mrs W. Buchan, was appointed the Division’s delegate to the annual Dominion conference, which will be held in Wellington in July. An invitation was received from the Temuka Women’s Institute for members to attend its annual birthday party next month. The president and secretary (Mrs J. O. J. Oliver) were appointed to attend. Arrangements for the combined social of the Women’s Division and Farmers’ Union, which will be held at the end of next month, were completed. The Farmers’ Union extended an invitation to the division to attend a lecture by Colonel Closey on Saturday evening. A demonstration was given by Mrs J. T. Brown, of posture cultuure, and she was accorded a vote of thanks. The monthly competitions resulted: Specimen bloom, Mrs A. G. Wheeler 1, Mrs W. Goodman 2. Miss Mcßride 3; junior. Miss B. Wheeler 1; felt work, Mrs V. Brookland 1; crysatllised flowers Miss Wheeler 1.
