WOMAN SOCIAL WORKER
POSITION AT £3OOO A YEAR LONDON, April 22 Miss Violet Markham (Mrs Carruthers) has been appointed DeputyChairman of the Unemployment Asistance Board at a salary of £3OOO a year. She has been a member of the board since 1934, and has devoted a great deal of her life to social problems and municipal government.
