Professor Paul Fillunger, lecturer at the Vienna Engineering College, and his wife committed suicide by taking a drug, then turning on the gas. The professor left a letter saying he regarded it as a duty to expiate with his life his injury to his fellow professor, Terzaghi, whom he attacked on a scientific questton oy means of a pamphlet, only later to find that Professor Terzaghi was right.
