PLEASANT POINT SALE GOOD STORE SHEEP RECOVER A QUALITY YARDING The most noteworthy feature of the stock sale held yesterday at Pleasant Point was the extra good quality of the breeding ewes which were forward. Fat Cattle About 120 head came forward, the quality of most of the beef being unfinished. The sale was the equal of late rates. Sales were.—

Store Cattle The sale for bulls was a keen one. The rest of the stores for the most part were of ordinary class and sold accordingly. Prices were.— Bulls 4 0 0 to 7 12 6 Yearling heifers .. to 1 12 0 Empty cows .... to 4 0 0 18-mth steers, med. to 3 7 6 3-year steers (ord.) to 4 5 0 Dairy Cattle A small entry sold at unchanged values as follows.— Dairy cows springing to 6 0 0 Cows in profit .. to 5 0 0 Pigs A small entry of pigs did not meet with much demand. Fat Sheep More than two races of fat sheep were forward and again no change can be reported. Butchers were keen, as also were exporters for suitable weights. The range was.—

Store Sheep As stated before the quality of the breeding ewes was the best for years and the easing tendency which was noticeable last week was not in evidence so far as good quality sheep were concerned. The one-year ewes were down on late rates by fully 2/6 a head. Not many good lines of rape lambs came to hand. The best price paid for S.M. threequarter bred ewes was 32/6 and £2 was the top figure for the young ewes. Values were.—

Horses About 20 horses were forward with few good draughts to be offered. Most of the horses were pc.ssed, and the few good sorts which came to hand met with a demand which clearly showed that values were much below the rates which have been ruling of late.
