WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
STUDHOLME The monthly meeting of the Studholme Women’s Institute took the form of a garden party, and was held at the home of Mrs K. Kippenberger. The president, Mrs F. Henshaw, welcomed all members and visitors. The Golden Thread talk for the month was given by Mrs A. Young on Louis Pasteur. A vote of thanks was accorded the speaker by Miss V. Murray. Afternoon tea was served, after which Mrs E. Roliinson gave a demonstration of hair-pin work. The president moved a vote of thanks to Mrs Roliinson for her instructive talk and also thanked Mrs Kippenberger for her hospitality. The monthly competitions resulted; Iced chocolate cake, Mrs E. Roliinson 1; Mrs J. Kelly, 2. Pincushion, Mrs E. Roliinson, 1; Mrs J. Kelly, 2; Mrs J. Forsyth, 3. Iced chocolate cake, Miss V. Murray, 1. Pincushion, Miss A. Rogers, 1; Miss Vera Murray 2. Gladiolus, Mrs Forsyth, 1; Mrs Henshaw, 2; Miss E. Wilson. 3. Sweet peas. Mrs Kelly 1; Mrs Kippenberger, 2; Miss A. Rogers, 3.
