FAMOUS INCIDENT RECALLED.— The death of the Maori “Prophet,’’ Rua Kenana, recalls memories of the difficulties which arose in 1916, when armed police were sent into the Urewera to bring Rua back as a prisoner. The bottom photograph shows Rua’s fortified home at Maungqpohalu, in the Urewera Country, and above is a picture of Rua and his son after their capture. On the right is Sergeant Henry, now stationed at Hawera.
