AUCKLAND WOOL SALE

VALUES HIGHER THAN AT WANGANUI BRADFORD THE PRINCIPAL BUYER By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, March 5. Auckland’s third wool sale of the season was held to-day, when a catalogue of 22,000 bales was offered. There was a full attendance of buyers, and the market was chiefly dominated by Bradford and the Continent, Japan getting occasional lots. Values were about Id per lb above the Wanganui sale earlier in the week. Almost a total clearance was effected. Among the high prices obtained in the first catalogue was 201 d for scoured fleece, 19. d for Corriedale lambs, 191 d for halfbred hoggets, and 181 d for halfbred fleece. Average fleece wool realised 15d. There was a much larger offering of lambs’ wool than usual. There was good competition throughout. Bradford was the principal buyer, well supported by the Continent and other buying countries. On the whole the sale was particularly satisfactory, considering the heavier condition of the wool and the increase in the quantity of seedy wool. The increase over the last Auckland sale ranged from Id to Id per lb. The range of prices was as follows: d. d.
