BROKERS’ ADVICES Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Timaru, have received the following advice from their London Office:—Wool sales opened active with large attendance and keen competition. Average selection. Home trride principal operators, with fair support from Continept. As compared with closing rates of last series— Greasy merino, unchanged; scoured merino, unchanged; greasy 1-bred, unchanged; scoured J-bred, par to Id higher; greasy crossbred, tine, par to Id lower; greasy crossbred, riiedium and coarse, unchanged; scoured crossbred, par to 3d higher, sllpes, unchanged; greasy lambs, change, if any, is in favour of sellers. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd., have received the following advice from their London House:—The second Series of wool sales opened with keen general competition. Yorkshire chief buyers. Prices unchanged compared with close preceding series; biit with firm tone. Representative selection.

The Home trade and continent Were the principal btiyers, with Russia also operating. There was a fair of all N.Z. greasy wools on offer, but no representative selection of merino or fine halfbred 56/58. The following is a comparison with the closing rates at the January sales:—Merino, firm; 56/58, no representative offering to quote; 50/56, Id to Id lower; 46/48, firm; 40/44, firm."
