GOVERNMENT LIFE OFFICE
The rieW business written by the Government Life Insurance Department for the year ended December 31, 1936, totalled £2,863,186. This figure establishes a new record for the Departrhent; and represents an increase of 42 per cent over the previous record year, 1935, when £2,005,128 worth of hew business was secured. The following figures for the last five year's reflect the steady growth of the Department’s nfew business: —l932, £1,104,644; 1933, £1,294,996; 1934, £1,661.740; 1935, £2,005,128; 1936, £2,863,186.
